Our Guiding Principles
Burnaby Citizens Association (BCA) is a civic political party that believes in social democracy and economic, social, and environmental justice. We put the needs of Burnaby residents, communities, and the environment first.
BCA values inclusion, diversity of representation and democratic decision-making. We reflect the people and communities we serve.
BCA believes in the power of publicly-owned and delivered civic services for the benefit of all residents. We advance and promote universal public education, and school environments free of harassment and discrimination, for the good of everyone.
BCA supports social democracy and defends human rights. We stand in solidarity with allies seeking equity and justice in BC, Canada, and abroad.
BCA commits to the principles of Indigenous rights and autonomy. We acknowledge our presence on the ancestral and unceded homelands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples.
